Description
Zhang Fei was a military general who served under the warlord Liu Bei in the late Eastern Han dynasty and early Three Kingdoms period. He took the pledge of brotherhood with Liu Bei and Guan Yu in his youth and together they made several notable achievements during the Yellow Turbans Uprising. Zhang Fei was shown as an exceedingly loyal and formidable warrior, his weapon was a “1.8 zhang long steel spear” (丈八點鋼矛), which was also called a “1.8 zhang long serpent spear” (丈八蛇矛) because its head was shaped like a serpent. This master-piece is designed by a well-known Japanese designer, Kimiya Masago, who is one of the best designers from Koei!
This statue is part of the collection featuring Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei, Lu Bu and Diao Chan. Zhang Fei is best paired with his sworn brothers, Guan Yu and Liu Bei.
张飞字益德，三国时期蜀汉名将，与关羽并称“万人敌“，是五虎上将之一。张飞与关羽随刘备起兵，不避艰险。三人寝则同床，恩若兄弟。赤壁之战中，刘备、关羽、张飞的战斗力给敌营将领留下了深刻印象，后记书中写道“刘备以枭雄之姿，而有关羽、张飞熊虎之将”；然而早在赤壁之战前，曹操的谟士程昱就已经盛称“刘备有英名，关羽、张飞皆万人敌也” 了。
