Sitting Ganesha (象头神)

Description

The son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. The elephant head denotes wisdom and his trunk represents Om. The broken tusk is a symbol of sacrifice, which Ganesha broke for writing the Mahabharata. His fan-like ears conveys that he hears all petitions. And he is humble enough to ride the lowest of creatures, a mouse. Ganesha is the most beloved and worshipped of all gods in the Hindu pantheon.

象头神为印度教及印度神话中的智慧之神、破除障碍之神，性格和善仁慈，而于战争中则勇敢坚定。他是湿婆神和雪山神女帕尔瓦蒂的精神之子。象头神信众广泛。在藏传佛教中被称作自在天，欢喜天，圣天，是守护神；在日本，被视为夫妇圆满之神和财神；在泰国，他叫做“象头神财天”；而在印度教中，他是排除障碍之神，是财神，是命运之神，是学识之神，代表着智慧，象征着吉祥和成功，是印度最具人气之神。其形象为象头人身，大腹便便，独牙，持斧头、糖果、念珠、莲花。坐骑为一老鼠。

象鼻象征可把外面的钱财吸进来，故摆放在公司或家里都有旺财吉祥，运势亨通和稳如泰山之意。又因万象更新的“象” ，谐音“祥”、寓意“吉祥如意”，居家者屋内摆放此吉祥物，可使家庭充满祥和之气，可得贵人相助。
