Sitting Shiva (湿婆)

Categories: ,

In Hinduism, Lord Shiva is one of the supreme beings who creates, protects and transforms the universe. Shiva is also known as the destroyer of all evil, and also the Lord of Meditation. It is said that he is always in control of his emotions such is his mastery of meditation.

Attributes of Lord Shiva:

– The trident that represents the three gunas
– The snakes that show he is beyond the power of death and poison and also stand for the Kundalini energy.
– The sound of Shiva’s two-sided drum maintains the rhythm of the heartbeat and creates the sound AUM in the overtones.
– The vehicle of Shiva is the white bull called Nandi (the joyful).
– Shiva is often seated on a tiger skin or wears a tiger skin, with the tiger representing the mind.
– Shiva lives on Mount Kailasa in the Himalayas.

This statue is a representation of Lord Shiva meditating and is a replica of the famous statue of Lord Shiva outside the Shiva Temple in the Himalayas. As Shiva is considered to be one of the most important figures in Hinduism, it is recommended to place him in the center and above any other Hindu God.

Lord Shiva goes well with our statues of the Sitting Ganesha, Sitting Lakshmi or Sitting Hanuman. We also recommend a purchase of a Lotus candle holder to complement your arrangement.
