Description
Venus is the goddess of love, beauty, fertility, prosperity and desire. She was the Roman counterpart to the Greek Aphrodite. Venus was born of the foam from the sea. This latter explanation appears to be more a popular theory due to the countless artworks depicting Venus rising from the sea in a clam.
She encourages us to truly love ourselves – our bodies, our pleasure, and our delight in love and life.
She had children with the God of war (Mars), their children Concordia (Harmonia) the goddess of harmony and concord, and the Cupids (Erotes) who were a collection of winged love deities who represented the different aspects of love.
