Mary, also known as the Mother of Jesus, is believed by many to be the greatest of all Christian saints. As such, artworks depicting her and an infant Jesus together have been quite popular over the years.
This is a sculpture of Mother Mary holding a baby Jesus. In his hands, Jesus holds a miniature globe representing loving the world from young, while Mary herself is portrayed standing on the Earth representing caring for the whole world. This sculpture is highly detailed from the sense of wonder shown in the face of the infant Jesus, to the peace and contentment of Mary as she holds him.
