Description
According to the scriptures of Mahayana Buddhism, the Amitayus Buddha, also known as Infinite Buddha, Infinite Light Buddha, Infinite Life Buddha, is the patron saint of those with the Dog and Pig zodiac. In Vajrayana Buddhism, the Amitayus is known for longevity, keen insight, pure perception, and a deep understanding of the void. Amitabha means “infinite light” and “infinite life”, so Amitabha is also called “the Buddha of infinite light and life”. This is a statue of Amitayus Buddha fully seated with his eyes half closed in meditation.
If there are statues of a Bodhisattva and a Buddha in the same area, it is recommended to put the Buddha in the center, with the Bodhisattva on the left or right of the Buddha image. If the Buddha statue is placed high in the center, then the Bodhisattva should be placed in a low position in front of the Buddha statue.
