Artemis of the Hunt (Candleholder)




In the Greek Pantheon, Artemis was revered as the patron and protector of young children and women. Artemis was one of the most widely venerated of the Ancient Greek deities, and her temple at Ephesus was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Artemis’ symbols included a bow and arrow, a quiver, and hunting knives, and the deer and the cypress were sacred to her.

This is a beautiful sculpture of Artemis shaped in the form of a candle holder. In her left hand, she carries her iconic bow and in her right hand, she holds aloft a sacred flame of purity which can also be used as a candleholder.
